Today is very special. Why you ask? For starters, my best friend was born today--Happy Birthday Matt! But let's think bigger. Today is special because we're alive and live in a city that people from across the globe come to spend their best moments. So thanks for being part of that. Now let's go celebrate!

Zac Mallard's Open Water

A little further up the peninsula, emerging artist and CofC graduate Zac Mallard opens his first solo exhibition Open Water. Mallard's works on paper will be complemented with new large scale works in oil. Live music and libations will keep you happy. 221 St. Philip Street.

Footlight Player's Porgy and Bess

The Footlight Players open their 81st season with Porgy & Bess at the Dock Street Theatre. This classic musical was inspired by real live folks from Charleston's colorful history, which inspired DuBose Heyward's novel Porgy. Check it out! Tickets $18 - $35. 135 Church Street.
