March 23, Kabbalat Shabbat service begins at 6:15 p.m. This week will be our Opening Day Shabbat. We'll have exciting give-aways and special treats at our Oneg Shabbat. More details are here. 

March 24, Shabbat services begin at 9:30 a.m.
Charlie Storniolo, son of Carrie and Vince Storniolo, will become a Bar Mitzvah. The congregational Kiddush luncheon following the service is being provided by Kathy and Larry Krantz and Rosa and Charlie Storniolo in honor of their grandson.

This week's Torah portion is  Parashat Tzav.

The Butterfly Project        
April 8, 10:00 a.m.  
The Butterfly Project uses the lessons of the Holocaust to educate about the dangers of hatred and bigotry. 

All of our members and friends are invited to participate in this world-wide effort. In addition to painting butterflies, representatives from The Butterfly Project will be on site sharing information as well as the newly released film NOT the Last Butterfly.

You Must RSVP to Reserve Your Butterfly
Our website has all of the details about the day. You'll also be able to reserve your butterfly at the site or by calling the office. The deadline has been extended to March 22 at 5:00 p.m.
Learner's Minyan      
April 13, 7:30 a.m.  
Does attending morning Minyan feel intimidating? Fear not - help is on the way. 

Once a month, Rabbi Josh slows down the Minyan service so that we can all learn together to enhance our experience. Read more now
ADL'S Walk  Against Hate
April 15, 8:30 a.m.
Join our TIS team as part of this community-wide event bringing people together to stand up against bigotry and celebrate diversity. Everyone is invited to join us!  The Walk is kid-friendly and features activities to keep everyone entertained! Learn more now

TICO Concerts
April 7, 8:30 p.m. and 10, 7:30 p.m.
This will be the first-ever performance of this new work. Composed by John Luther, it joins the forces of the Tifereth Israel Community Orchestra, the East County Mormon Chorale, Cantor Larry Kornit, and shofar virtuoso Steven Ovitsky.

Composer Luther, who is not Jewish, read the text from Musaf, and was deeply touched by its true awesomeness, relevance to everyone, and emotional message. Click here for more details and to purchase tickets.

Winifred Astra Lorraine Kalmar 
Sunday March 11 at 4:54 p.m.,
Winifred Astra Lorraine Kalmar was welcomed by her parents, Christina de Jesus and Paul Kalmar. Winfred weighed 7 lbs. 10.4 oz and measured 20 inches. She was given the Hebrew name D'rora Shlomit. Winifred joins her big brother, Louis. Grandparents include TIS members Susan Stern and Frank Kalmar and maternal grandparents  Miriam and Roland de Jesus.
