We recently released a PastPerfect Online training mini-series that reviews how to select and upload data and images to your PastPerfect Online site. Whether you're just getting started or are a seasoned user, these short videos will guide you through the process of updating your site.

When Should I Update My Site?
There is no single correct answer to this question, but the guidelines below will help you determine what schedule is right for your museum. Many museums find that uploading on a quarterly basis works well.
  • Upload data to your site during off-hours to ensure that visitors receive the most accurate search results. On average it takes about 20 minutes for all the data you upload to fully filter into your site. Uploading during off-hours ensures that your visitors will always have access to the most up-to-date and complete set of records available.
  • Maximize your efficiency by creating and uploading less frequently. Unless there is a specific item you need to immediately add or remove from your site, it is more efficient to update your site on a schedule.
  • Save time by waiting until you have a larger number of items you want to add to your site. For example, if you have 1000 new items to add to your site, it will be quicker to upload one batch of all 1000 items than to upload after every 100 items.
