Is your PastPerfect Online Site Secure?
Regularly updating your password for IMS is one of the quickest ways to keep your PastPerfect Online site secure. Even if you do not often log into IMS it is important for you to update this password to ensure your site is protected. While we take every step we can to keep your site safe, updating your p assword is an extra step that only you can take.

Below are the steps you can take to update your password for IMS. If you would like assistance updating your password, please call 1-800-562-6080 and ask for a member of the PastPerfect Online team.
  1. Visit http://admin.pastperfectonline.com/sign_in
  2. Click "Forgot Password?"
  3. Enter the email address you use to log into IMS
  4. Click "Reset Password"
  5. Close your internet browser
  6. You will receive an email saying, "We have received a request to change your password. If you did not initiate this request, please ignore this message. To change your password, please click the following link."
    • If you do not receive this email, please check your junk or spam folders.
  7. Click the link in the email
  8. Your internet browser will open to a page where you can enter in a new password
  9. Enter your new password and click "Save the password"
    • Strong passwords have a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. They should not contain any simple words, phrases, or patterns.
  10. When you save your password, you will be automatically logged into IMS
  11. Log out of IMS and log back in with your new password to test the settings
  12. Be sure to record your password in a safe place
How to Change your Site's Pagebanner
The logo at the top of your PastPerfect Online site can easily be updated. Follow the steps below to update your logo. Detailed instructions with screenshots can be found in the online User Guide at http://museumsoftware.com/ppohelp/ChangingLogo2007.htm.
  1. Sign into http://admin.pastperfectonline.com using the information from your PastPerfect Online Welcome Letter.
  2. Select the Site tab.
  3. Next to Site Logo, click the Choose File or Browse... button.
  4. Navigate to where your image is stored and select the image file.
  5. Click the Open button. You should see your new logo image file name display  next to the Choose File or Browse button.
  6. Click the Update Museum button at the top or the bottom of your page to save the changes. You should then see your new logo displayed on the Site tab.
  7. Below the new logo, the URL for this image is displayed. Highlight the URL and copy it.
  8. Select the Header/Footer tab.
  9. In the Header Text field, you will need to replace the URL for your current logo with the new one. Look for the section of text that starts with <img src=. The URL is listed between quotes. Delete the current URL and then paste in the new one.
  10. Click the Update Museum button at the top or the bottom of your page to save the changes.
  11. Click your Open Web Site link at the top of your page to view your new logo.
