PastPerfect Online Milestone
In May, there were over 180,000 searches done using PastPerfect Online and nearly a million records were accessed!  Thank you for making your collections available to all the researchers and visitors to your sites.
Critical PastPerfect Online Upgrade
A new version of PastPerfect Online was released in the fall of 2014.  This new software includes new features, a more modern look, and a quicker upload time.

Over the next few months you will be contacted to upgrade your PastPerfect Online site to this new version if you have not already done so.  To get a jump start on this process please contact us at 1-800-562-6080, Monday - Friday from 9 - 5:30 ET and we can help you start the process.

Search Results Sort Order
When visitors perform a search on your site, all records that match their search criteria are returned as a list; this list is referred to as "search results." You can control how search results are sorted on your site and can even select a different sort order for Keyword Search results and for Catalog Search results. There are three options for sorting your search results:
  • Random - No sort order is applied to the results.  Each time the search results are loaded, the display order is randomly generated.
  • First Field - Results are sorted alphabetically by the first field you have selected to share online for that record type.
  • Relevance - The most relevant results appear on the first page or pages of your search results. The algorithm that determines each record's relevance considers multiple factors, such as frequency of the search for term, placement of the term on the page, number of fields the term appears in on the record, etc.
