PastPerfect Online Milestone
Since the beginning of 2017, over 500,000 new records have been shared with PastPerfect Online. This brings the total number of records online to nearly 6 million!
Creating and Uploading from Multiple Computers
To streamline the process of updating your site, we suggest you select a single computer as the primary workstation for creating and uploading files to PastPerfect Online. You can select which records to share from any PastPerfect workstation, but creating and uploading files should always be done on the same computer.

If you need to create and upload files on a computer other than your primary workstation you must select options 1-11 when creating your files. Failing to create options 1-11 on a secondary workstation will cause the upload to fail, or will upload old data to your site.

If you often switch between computers for the process of creating and uploading files, please call 1-800-562-6080 to speak with a member of our PastPerfect Online team. We can help you create a routine to ensure that all of your data is uploaded successfully each time.
Adding Help Text to Your Site
Each search option on your site, with the exception of Random Images, has a customizable field for "Help Text". These fields allow you to provide instructions to your visitors for how to most efficiently search your collection.

The default text for Keyword Search, Advanced Search, Objects, Photos, Archives, and Library is:

Search Hints: To search by phrase wrap your criteria in quotes. ex: "Find me"

The default text for Search by Term is:

Search Hints: Start your search by clicking a letter.

Using the steps below will overwrite this default text with information specific to your organization.
  1. Sign into http://admin.pastperfectonline.com.
  2. Select the Help Text tab.
  3. Enter your custom text in each of the fields.
    • Note: You can use plain text or HTML. Use HTML to get the formatting and spacing you desire. If you would like help with the HTML please contact us.
  4. Once you have made your changes, click the Update Museum button at the top or bottom of your page to save the changes.
  5. Click the Open Web Site link at the top of your page to view your changes.
