It is apparent that our focus on missions during the month of July is working - and, praise God for it! So many of you have contributed to the invitations to bring in tangible expressions of God's love and grace with diapers, tote bags, flip flops, and food packaging. This week, we will be gathering full size women's toiletries to help support women recovering from being exploited in the sex trade industry through the programs offered by Created Gainesville. And, as you read this, Trinity has almost 100 youth and adults serving on mission trips in Tennessee, Georgia, and Guatemala. Please remember these teams in your prayers so that they are able to finish out their week well and journey home safely.
Please make sure to mark your calendars for
Sunday, July 30th and plan to join us for lunch in Worship Center B as we gratefully celebrate the ministries of Erin Cushing and Julie Mishoe and send them with blessings and thanks into the next chapter of their vocational journey.
Speaking of journeys, in worship
this Sunday, we will continue our expedition of the stories of Genesis and the way that God's call often leads us to unexpected places in our lives. This was certainly the case for Jacob! We will be picking up where Catherine left off last week, continuing to navigate our way through Jacob's saga as he sought refuge from his brother's wrath after conning Esau out of both his birthright and their father's blessing. Through a series of twists and turns, Jacob's path eventually leads him to a place of isolation where he literally wrestles with God. As we observe Jacob's dynamically different encounters with God (between the vision of the stairway and a wrestling match), we will explore what it means to be 'undone' as we encounter God in real and tangible ways that permanently transform and guide us toward becoming the people God created us to be.
I hope to see you
Sunday and share a time of fellowship with you at our Summer Lunch in Worship Center B following the
Blessings of peace and joy,
