I hope you are experiencing a meaningful season of Lent so far. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to participate in one or more aspects of the Restoration Challenge. This wonderful, holistic experience that Rev. Lenora Rousseau has put together for our congregation offers daily devotionals, exercise, tips on healthy eating habits, and support for practicing a variety of spiritual disciplines. You can go here to learn more and to sign up for one or more of the opportunities available.
Our worship theme for Lent this year is The Restoration Project. For the next several weeks, we will look at several encounters from the gospel of John where Jesus invites persons to receive healing or restoration. The invitation each week is to find ourselves in these stories. What good news does each encounter contain for us about the work of restoration God wants to do in our lives?
I invite you to come to worship expectantly these next several weeks. Get ready for the Holy Spirit to be at work, doing a new thing in your life. Jesus Christ is in the business of restoration. And God knows, we all need it.
