PASTOR'S VOICE

JULY 2015
Every now and then we need to
Stop, Drop, and Roll

We need to stop and take inventory, we need to ask the hard questions, we need to stop doing the same thing the  same way expecting a different result. And above all, we need to reflect on what the Lord has  shown us.

After reflecting, we need to drop off the old bad habits, we need to let go of the past and roll into the future. We will not compromise the Gospel but we will need to recognize  that this is now a day of social media and new technology. We have the choice to roll  with the new or get left behind with the old.
Don't get me wrong, I am not talking about
forgetting or leaving our traditions but I am stating that we must build on those traditions to accomplish greater things.

Ask yourself a few questions:

1. Do I just quote our mission statement or do I practice it?

2. Do I truly love my neighbors and demonstrate God's love through ministry? If so, what ministry have I demonstrated?

3. Do I make disciples and communicate God's word through "evangelism"? If so,  who was the last one I discipled?

4. When was the last time I communicated or shared God's word with a non- believer?

5. How is my fellowship with my brothers and sisters?

6. How have I made my brother or sister feel welcome in the service?

7. Who have I encouraged with a kind word?

8. Who do I fellowship with?

9. Am I satisfied fellowshipping with just some people or do I welcome others?

10. Whom have I taught the Word of God to?

11. Have I shared any Bible knowledge from my Bible Class? Applied?

12. Do I attend Bible Class? If not, why not?

What do you need to stop doing?
What do you need to drop?
What do you need to roll into?

At Timothy we have Sunday School every Sunday at 9:30 and Bible Study classes four days of the week. Find out more about them here.
REWIND

The summer has been busy for us at TBC! Check out pictures from our Annual Church Outing and Community Cookout/Family Fun Day.

Also, congratulations to Team Sanctified for coming back from a nine point deficit to beat Team Holiness 13-12 at the Church Outing in June.

Special thanks to all those who took part in making both events a memorable success!

PRAYING IN COLOR

Praying in Color is an active, meditative, playful prayer practice. It is both  process and product oriented. The process involves re-entry into a child-like world  of coloring and improvising. The product is a colorful design or drawing  that is a visual reminder of the time spent in prayer.

A new prayer form gives God an invitation and a new door to penetrate the locked cells of our hearts and minds. Learn more about this prayer practice here.

PRAYER STARTERS
from the Prayer Ministry

Prayer of Need

Lord, I cast all my cares upon you, knowing you will sustain me. You will never let me fall. (Psalm 55:22)

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Lord, my God, you have done many miracles for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them. (Psalm 40:5)

Prayer for Unity

Make us one, make us one as we gather here to magnify Your Son. Take everything that would divide us, by Your Spirit lead and guide us. Father, won't you come and make us one.

Prayer of Adoration

O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens. (Psalm 8:1)

Prayer of Supplication
(Praying to God for our own needs)

Do not worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done. (Phil. 4:6)

Prayer of Intercession

That all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that You have sent me. (John 17:21)
