The generator has been installed and is ready for use. Thanks to the support of voters and book sale attendees, the generator was installed this spring.

                                  

New Encore Catalog Coming July 1

 

The Patterson Library will introduce Encore Catalog, a new online catalog search with improved features to find what you want faster than ever! One search box will allow you to browse through the millions of books, movies, audiobooks, eBooks & other great materials available to youYou can now check out eBooks and audiobooks right in the library catalog! In addition, Catalog Plus will give you access to downloadable articles from over 7000 magazines and journals.

Make Your Own Beer

Tess and Mark Szamatulski of Maltose Express, award winning brewers and authors featured on the Discovery Channel, will show you how to brew your own delicious beer. Learn about beer styles, history, ingredients, fermentation and more in this workshop. 21+ only, must show ID. Registration required. Walk-ins welcome if space allows. Priority seating for registered guests.

Exploring Our Nation's Parks

Join us for a journey through some of the nation's parks with stops in the Catskills, Niagara Falls, Central Park and Yosemite National Park. See beautiful photos and hear stories about how the parks have been used and shaped by generations of people.

This Speakers in the Humanities event is made possible by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the New York State Legislature.

Knitting for Beginners

Want to knit but don't know where to begin? Come to our 4 week introductory course to learn the basics of knitting and make a fun craft each week! Please bring a pair of US size 8 knitting needles, a ball of yarn, and a pair of scissors to each class. Space is limited. Registration Required.

Music With Garrett: Summer Reading Kick-Off

For babies - age 4. Come to the library and sign up for our summer reading game and the chance to win great prizes! Garrett from St. Francis Hospital will be here for a music class that includes dancing, singing and playing instruments.

Friday   July 11   12:30 - 1:30 PM   

 
For ages 5 and up. Come to the library and sign up for our summer reading game and the chance to win great prizes! Kids will see cool science experiments with Mad Science.

Friday   July 25   7 - 10 PM   

 
For ages 12 - 18. Do you sing, write poetry, rap or do a little comedy? Come out and show us what you can do! Performers must register and will be contacted with their set time.

Ages 4-7. Miss Jenn and the Patterson Library's Teen  

Advisory Group presents its first program. Kids will make crafts for Fathers' Day and have a small snack. Please notify us if your child has any allergies. 

Saturday   June 21  10:30 AM - 2:30 PM 

Ages 11 and up. Learn the basics of child care, the responsibilities of sitters and parents, and what to do in an emergency. Attendees will take a short, written test and earn a certificate of completion. Bring pencils, paper and a lunch.   

 

Computers for Beginners

Tuesday June 24  11:00 AM

Margaret Carey will teach you the basics of using a computer. This class will help beginning computer users learn how to open and close programs and navigate the computer. Registration Required.

Don Konen of the Patterson Historical Society shares his years of research on the history of the Old Southeast Church and its first pastor Elisha Kent, a leading figure in the history of the churches in the region.
