PAVERPOL EXHIBITION
Together with the Paverpol Distributor in Ontario I organized a Canada-wide get together of Paverpol Instructors in Spencerville (ON). With the help from some of the instructors the property of Herman and Thecla Kluck was turned into a place buzzing with excitement, art and fun! A gallery opening, master classes with Jossy de Roode and Lizzie Ciesluk, a paverpol exhibition and pig roast with music Saturday night. An unique event. I'm honored to be part of this Paverpol family and work and play together with so many talented people. I thank all participants, instructors, friends and family to make the event such a success!

ALBERTA, ALBERTA SASKATCHEWAN & MANITOBA
Brenda Topley tips on how to make fairy or angels wings. Perfect timing for this time of year!
Take a 19 or 20 gauge wire cut off about 18" and find the middle photo A. Fold the ends in to meet at the middle point keeping a rounded shape (photo B)
Photo A Photo B
Tape the two ends of the wire together trying not to have too much masking tape on the folded loops. Form a wing shape (photo C). In (photo D) the wing on the right is fairy shape and the one on the left is angel shape.
Photo C Photo D
Lay the two wings on a piece of tissue paper and gently cover with a layer of transparent Paverpol using a brush. Also over the wire edge to make sure it is covered (the tissue paper will 'cling' to the wire) after you've done one side. When dry turn over and add another layer of tissue paper. Dry again, cut around the wings and shape. ( F)
Photo F Sally's wings You attach the wings to the body after the 'mummy wrap' and before you give it clothes.
Cover wings with plastic wrap to make sure not to get colour on them (leave the middle free of plastic so it can be removed after the sculpture is dressed
Take a length of crochet string of about 24 " long. Dip it in the colour of Paverpol you are using for the body of your sculpture. Wrap it twice around the middle and hold in place on her back. Take one end of the string under her arm up over her shoulder across the middle of the wings and around the opposite side of the body. Repeat for the other side and pull real tight. Tie two tight knots in the front and cut the extra string off.
Now you can dress her. Remove the plastic wrap and coat it with some varnish mixed with mother of pearl to her wings. This is now outdoor safe.

BRITISH COLUMBIA & YUKON
Create a simple figure that can be a wall hanging, wine bottle decoration, or anything else! No wire needed, just fabric! Cut a strip of t-shirt (or another fiber): 25 cm long and 10 cm wide. Cut a slit of 9 cm long on both sides. Cut another strip of 25 cm by 2 cm Dip the bigger strip in Paverpol transparent and start twisting the middle part (spine) and continue with the arms and legs. Lay it down on a plastic sheet and 'shape' it. Take the smaller strip and twist it around and turn it into the head, push it onto the body. If you want to attach it to a bottle, let it dry for a few hours, lift it and place it on the wine bottle (it will stick).

Mary Lou Devine's work on TV! One of our Paverpol artists/instructors was recently featured on Regional Contact, a segment of the local CTV newscast. Mary Lou Devine is a Certified Paverpol Instructor and artist who lives in North Gower Ontario. The interview focused on Mary Lou's love of Paverpol and showed her outside of her backyard studio working on a sculpture and explaining how such works of art are created. Interestingly, the sculpture that she was working on, and others featured on the program, sold before the segment aired. Mary Lou was one of the instructors who attended the two day Masters Class which was hosted by the Dutch Hill Paverpol in Spencerville, Ontario in September. The Canada goose which she made at that class was also prominently displayed in the Regional Contact segment. As a result of the airing of the segment, Mary Lou has been contacted by people wanting to learn how to create home and garden sculptures from Paverpol and people who are interested in buying her sculptures. She has also been asked to speak about Paverpol at a future Horticultural society meeting. QUEBEC
Lise St-Cyr gave a CPI class to a lady from Toulouse France, Claire Courpron, she will teach in Washington also, she is bilingual and she lives in both Countries. Claire flew over to Quebec for her class, as she had done last year for her first class with Lise. She is an accomplished Paverpol artist as she has been creating sculpture and Art pieces in Paverpol for three years now. She attended a third day of class with Lise after the CPI course, where she practiced Paverpol on canvas and wine bottle decorations.
" It was an awesome three days, an exchange between two artists really, who both have Paverpol Passion in common".
