ANNOUNCEMENTS

A MESSAGE FROM MR. NOTARO
I am so grateful to all our families that attended the Annual Meeting last week.  A great deal of information was shared in our normal hour meeting (1 hour and 3 minutes to be exact).  We were pleased to welcome the largest number of attendees we have had over the past 4 years.  We believe that all the information shared was pertinent to all grade levels and was well received.

Below, we are providing a link for you to see a number of the slides from the powerpoint that were discussed.  Please be sure to watch the videos, one is an entertaining Cash Bash trailer and the other features our students talking about integrity and what St. Luke's is to them.  This will also provide an opportunity for those who were unable to attend. You are always welcome to express your concerns or questions.  When doing our best to share or recognize all the great accomplishments of our school, it is very difficult to include every individual, team or group that should be mentioned.  I do apologize to any that were not highlighted such as our outstanding Booster Club and our Boy's basketball team that played in the championship game last year.  I am sure there are so many more. Please know we are grateful to all!

This week we held a CEU for all rising 9-11 grade students that highlighted our academic paths for graduation and began the process of online course selection for next year.  This presentation was so well done and very informative. We are in the process of planning an evening soon to share this information with all parents of all grades.  We believe that even the youngest of families should see where their children are going and the path that is provided by a real college prep environment.  It was an awesome evening and I strongly encourage you to be on the lookout for this upcoming event.  Seniors attended their own CEU that began the preparation of introducing them to financial responsibilities in college.

The winner of our raffle for the new Chromebook was Mr. and Mrs. Robert Carlock.  Our sincere thanks to the Carlocks for donating the computer back to the school so that we can allow some other students to use it who currently do not have one available.

We ask that you continue to to speak positively and promote the wonderful happenings at St. Luke's Episcopal School!

We are St. Luke's!

MIKE

PARENTS PARTICIPATING IN BIOMED PROGRAM
This week our BioMed students were fortunate enough to hear from not 1 but 2 of our SLES parents in the medical profession.   A huge thank you to these parents who took time out of their day to inspire our students!

Amy Hill, RNC, MSN, CIC (and Mom of first grader Luke) is an  Infection Control Nurse Practitioner at  USA Children's and Women's.  She spoke to the students about the steps healthcare workers take to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

Dr. Mary Edmonds is a veterinarian at Spring Hill Animal Clinic.  She is a
St.  Luke's alum and the mother of Clark (K2).  She brought several furry friends with her and the students were able to provide head to toe basic exams on Morris (a chocolate lab), Fanny (a french bulldog), Annie (a dachshund) and 11th grader Adele Moore's 8 week old australian shephard Dash.

"D" DAY for K3...DOUGHNUTS AND DADS!
Our K3 classes celebrated the letter "D" in a great way!  Their "D"ads stopped by to enjoy some "D" doughnuts with them and then attended chapel where the students sang.  They had a great time.  We think EVERY day should be a"D" Day!
