CAMP WILDCAT WINS "BEST SUMMER CAMP" NAPPIE 2 YEARS IN A ROW 
Camp Wildcat will be coming to an end this week!  We had, yet, another GREAT summer staying busy!  Camp Wildcat is honored to be named "Mobile's Best Summer Camp".   Thanks to all who voted and to all of those who attended our camp.  

We were also finalist in these categories: Best Pre-School, Best Private School, and Best High School Teacher!  Great things are happening at SLES!

NEW LOWER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
Registration coming soon!  Classes are extremely limited.  Don't worry, if you don't get into the class that you want the first quarter - we will offer a new selection each quarter!   Some examples of classes that will be offered for the first quarter: Systemic Solutions, Silly Scientist - FUNology in STEM, Fizzy Foamy Science, Little Med School, American Girl Doll Club, Chess Club, and MORE!

NEW SAFETY MEASURES: ALICE SAFE TRAINING FOR ALL FACULTY AND STAFF AND INCREASED SECURITY 
As promised, we are excited to announce some of our new security measures for the upcoming school year!
 
MORNING CARE AND SL+ ENROLLMENT FORMS 2018-19
Get a jump start and enroll for morning care and after school care on Japonica.  We encourage everyone to fill out of a form so that we have your child's emergency information on file in case of an emergency.  There is not a sign up fee!  Registration papers are required to attend.

Ms. Cindy and Ms. Barbara will be leading morning care again this year.   There are a few reminders and new procedures:  Drop off will be in the dining hall, please enter in the doors by the stage only.  We do not allow drop off before 7:00 a.m.  A parent MUST come in to sign their child in.   All gates will remain locked until 7:40.   We are happy to provide this service for our families and appreciate everything you do to help mornings run smoothly.  We can't wait to see you!

JAPONICA PRE-PLANNING LETTER FROM Dr. KEESEE
Summer reading assignments, NEW and EXCITING cheer uniforms for K2-5th grade, "Spirit Friday" EVERY FRIDAY, BYOD for 5th Grade, and MORE!  

OUR TEST SCORES ARE ON THE RISE
In 2015-16 our overall complete battery of scores indicated we scored higher than 65%  of the normed population. In 2016-17 that rose to 76% and in 2017-18 that rose yet again to 78%! Total increase of 13% in 3 years. Keep up the great work, Wildcats!
    
FINDING KINDNESS, GIRL'S NIGHT OUT, FOR 4TH AND 5TH GRADE GIRLS 
A special night is planned for our 4th and 5th grade girls and the theme is "kindness".  The girls will be taught what it means to be a young lady of honor, faith, and integrity.  Don't forget to wear PJ's!

6TH GRADE TIPS
Helpful tips to help 6th graders prepare for middle school!

FIRST CEU OF THE 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR FOR GRADES 9-12
Rachel McDonald, an educator from the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, has been invited to speak about plastics, microplastics, recycling and reducing our impact on the oceans. This talk will last approximately 1 hour and will be the first CEU offered this year. This CEU is sponsored by the St. Luke's Robotics Team.
ST. LUKE'S STUDENT ATTENDS LEADER SUMMIT AT HARVARD
Congrats to Garrett Upshaw for being selected to attend the Ambassador Leaders Summit at Harvard!  Way to make us proud!

ST. LUKE'S ANNUAL BOOSTER CLUB MEDIA GUIDE 
Promote your business in one of the area's largest competitive athletic programs in the City of Mobile.  Show your pride for your favorite Wildcat in a Wildcat Pride Family Ad!  Support our school by purchasing an ad in our 2018-2019 and we will make CERTAIN they all see your business' name!
 
The annual Media Guide is distributed and available at all fall and spring sporting events while supplies last.
 
Ads / sponsorships are available in black and white or color and are available in a variety of sizes. St. Luke's will use your printed or digital design or will design a layout for you. Digital submissions must be high resolution JPEG (300 dpi minimum) or PDF format.

Media Guide material is due no later than August 10.

VARSITY CHEERLEADERS WIN  FIRST PLACE OVERALL AT UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI UCA CHEER CAMP 
Our Varsity Cheerleaders... They're back-to-back Camp Champs! Our Varsity Cheerleaders had, yet another, award-winning competition day at UCA Cheerleading Camp. They won first place in their rally routine and cheer competition, as well as an overall first place win! Also, we had a record-breaking number of girls make the UCA All American squad. Congratulations to Kennyde Williams, Larina Womack, Riley Griffith, Chloe Watts, Makenna Rowland, and Taylor Jackson on becoming All American Cheerleaders! Senior Captain, Taylor Warren, received the coveted UCA Pin it Forward award for demonstrating "Why America Needs Cheerleaders". What a talented bunch! Great job, Wildcats!
MAKING HISTORY AT ST. LUKE'S
On Wednesday, July 25th, Mr. Notaro announced to our football team that we will be playing on our own field this season!
