Code Compliance Spotlight

Code Compliance Spotlight is a new feature in the PAWS a Moment newsletter where Code Compliance staff is recognized for exceptional performance.
Congratulations, Karie Hunter!
Code Compliance Officer/Animal Bite Investigator Karie Hunter was recognized as a Huff Buck* Recipient for assisting staff and supervisors during the months of October through December 2012.
*Arlington Animal Services Manager Chris Huff implemented a program to help motivate and encourage staff to go the extra mile with customers. This is a peer recognition program which allows employees of the shelter to recognize one another for going above and beyond. The employees submit notes of appreciation and acknowledgement from fellow staff members.

Be watching to see who will be the Huff Buck recipient for next quarter!
Good luck Animal Services Center staff. We know you all work hard for the success of the shelter.

Congratulations, Drew Livingston!

On the morning of December 18, 2012, while conducting an inspection on Dartmouth Court, Code Compliance Officer Drew Livingston noticed black smoke and people running towards a house a few doors down. Drew immediately went to help, and found a fire had quickly engulfed three backyards including fences and sheds. Drew and a few concerned citizens helped contain the fire with water hoses until Arlington Fire Department arrived on scene a few minutes later.
Field Operations Manager Misty Gutierrez expresses her thanks to Drew for his quick thinking actions and his concern for other people. He clearly went above and beyond the call of duty. Gutierrez says she couldn't be more proud!
Thank you Drew, for protecting our community!
Drew Livingston, Code Compliance Officer

Congratulations, Kirk Coppedge!

Ever wonder what happened to the graffiti that was there a few days ago? Code Compliance Technician Kirk Coppedge is a behind the scenes person who is responsible for the quick disappearance of Arlington's graffiti.
Like a super hero, Kirk swoops in and leaves the area feeling unscathed. Most citizens do not even realize Arlington has graffiti - at least until Kirk is on vacation.
Thank you Kirk, for all you do in keeping the city looking and feeling safe!
Kirk Coppedge, Code Compliance Technician
