Sermon: Rev. Jim Berlau
UNBREAKABLE: "Promises We Can't Keep"

Genesis 17:1-7, 15-16

Abraham and Sarah's faith is the reason, we are told, that God makes a covenant with them. But while they are indeed faithful, they are also at time selfish and in despair, much like us (Sarah even laughed at God's promise). Perhaps God is drawn to their barrenness? Our empty places become an opportunity for God to fill us up, perhaps with the help of others. Do you ever feel as if you have nothing to offer? While you might feel empty, maybe that's not the worst place to be, because God is known to use barren vessels to serve a feast of grace.

Fantastic news!  We have confirmed the cell tower will be delivered and erected on Wednesday, February 28th.  The process takes an entire day.  It will be very exciting to see all the parts of the tower delivered to our campus and set into place. Church members are invited to observe the cross tower rising from the church portico or parking lot areas.
Wesley Covenant Prayer Station Open During Lent
Throughout Lent we will have a special Wesley Covenant Prayer Station set-up in The Studio (the first door on the right hand side in the main church hallway).  Each week there will be a different meditation theme and it will remain up until the following Sunday. Come in at your convenience and follow the instructions on your printed prayer card. Don't miss this hands-on experiential time of Lenten prayer and meditation!

The Compassion Experience - February 25th
Sunday, February 25th - The Compassion Experience - 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (meeting at the church at 12:45 p.m.)

Join us for a trip to another local church to visit The Compassion Experience. We'll walk through full-scale replicas of various dwellings from some of the world's greatest places of need in order to experience the living conditions for children and families in these areas.   We want to engage with our larger community and transform our hearts as we gain a deeper understanding of what some our  neighbors  encounter on a daily basis. Let's move outside of our comfort zone  and encounter life from a different perspective!

Help Us Raise the Roof!
As with any building, our church has needed care and attention through the years. Thanks to the generous support of our members and friends who have donated their skills, time and finances, Peace has been blessed with many recent renovations and upgrades. Yet, there are still areas of our church home that need immediate attention-the most urgent need being the church roof.

Following Hurricane Irma, our Trustee Committee identified dozens of small leaks that damaged interior ceiling tiles. Multiple roof inspections and estimates have given us the same news. The roof must be replaced (preferably before the next hurricane season) and the cost will be around $80,000. The winds from the storm were simply too much for 13 year old roof shingles already weakened by time and the Florida heat. Unfortunately, our hurricane insurance deductible is over $100,000 and the current roof is no longer under its original warranty.

Peace is blessed to be completely debt free, but we find ourselves facing a large expense that wasn't included within our normal church operating budget. Please pray about this roof project and what you can do to support it--any gift, large or small will help. Donations may be made online at or via cash or check (please write ROOF on the memo line or envelope). Help us raise the new roof!
