Tonight, April 17th, is Pearl Open House from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Invite new interested parents to come at 6:00 for a special tour. Social Media campaign tonight, post on Facebook or Instagram using #pearlopenhouse and earn a free Chili's kid's meal per child in your family.

New 3rd Grade Teacher
Mr. Wong, our Pearl 3rd grade teacher, has accepted a full time pastoral position at a neighborhood church and will be moving on next year. We are happy to announce that Mr. Ed Drain, Kare Coach and Pearl Substitute teacher, will be joining our Pearl Staff next year as the new 3rd grade teacher. Mr. Drain is an alumni of both Pearl and Rio Hondo Prep.
National Math Contest Class Winners
Our Pearl Prep 3rd, 4th & 5th graders competed in the Noetic Math Contest last week. It is a national competition focused on problem solving. Shown are the top 3 scorers in each class. All students will go on to compete nationally. Congratulations to our class medal winners: Elias Har, Ethan Lo and Nate Curtis.

Teacher Appreciation
Pearl Teacher Appreciation Week is April 30th-May 4th. The theme this year is the Academy Awards. There is a film strip going home today that they are asking each student to fill out and decorate as a thank you. Please return it by Wed., April 25th.
40 Hr Reading Goal
All students who made their 40 hour reading goal will get to go bowling on April 26th. Remember to keep reading as we are having weekly prize drawings for students over 50 hours. The 50 hour reading deadline is coming up on May 25th. We are planning it exciting day at Kare Park with inflatables, games and food.
