Representative Ed Price (D-District 58) is taking part in a special election on April 29 for District 2 of the Louisiana State Senate. This seat became vacant following Troy Brown's (D) resignation on February 16, 2017.

Price has been an avid credit union supporter over the years, authoring and introducing a number of bills that have helped grow credit union movement across the state. He was instrumental in our 2016 legislative successes, which include the passing of Prize Link Savings and Payable on Death. Additionally, Price holds a position on the Board of Directors for Wymar FCU in Geismar, LA.

LCUL will be presenting him a max PAC check, but this is minimal to what is needed. In strategizing with Adams and Reese, LLC, we wanted to offer the opportunity for credit unions to individually contribute to his campaign as well. He has been so kind to credit unions so we encourage you to help in any way. It's important that we elect officials like Rep. Price to keep our movement alive and well.

"When we talk about credit union-friendly candidates, we look to Representative Price as a prime example. He has given so much time and energy to advancing our movement in Louisiana, going to bat for us on numerous occasions. We are grateful for his support and are delighted to show our appreciation by financially supporting his campaign," commented Connie Major, CFO/EVP of Governmental Affairs.

Credit union wishing to contribute will need to make checks payable to "the campaign of Ed Price" and mailed to LCUL office no later than April 18. Please note that we cannot except them made payable to the League or run them through our funds.
