August Prayer Update

Much to be thankful for

Thank you for praying for the Penny Gospel project.

There is much to be thankful for as thousands of Penny Gospels have been handed out across Scotland over the past few months. Please continue to pray that those who have received their copy will read it and respond to God's Word. Let's pray for those who are still to distribute their copies, that more communities will hear the Good News.

For your encouragement, here is one story from our time at St. George's Tron Church of Scotland during the Commonwealth Games:

As one of Glasgows transient homeless, Graeme was a regular feature at St Georges Tron café during the Commonwealth Games. SBS staff had chatted with him each day, given him a Penny Gospel and discussed his faith. When a passing tourist gave us a spare ticket to the gymnastics we asked Graeme if he would like to go — his response was startling. He longed to attend a competition but had believed that he — as a homeless person — would never get to the Games that had taken over his city. That night he went to the Hydro, sat in his allotted seat and got chatting with the person next to him. Graeme passed him his copy of the Penny Gospel — truly passing on the baton! Unbeknown to Graeme, the man next to him had given him his seat!

Let's be inspired by Graemes story and pray that each copy of More Than Gold will be read and then passed on to reach even more people with the Gospel. Pray that anyone who has been influenced by the Penny Gospel will, like Graeme, come into a local church and feel welcome.

If you have any stories of your Penny Gospel distribution, please share them with us. You can see read more stories from the Penny Gospel distribution on our website.

Thank you.
