This is your chance to tell us how wonderful (or terrible) we are. Do you think we're on track to reach our goals? Really... it's ok to be honest. How else will we know how to improve? What about our District messages? Are you getting them? Are there too many or too few? Do they come too early or too late? Where do you look for SCS info when you need it? On the web? Social media?

Your opinions matter to us, so we hope you'll take a few minutes to complete the 2017 Perception & Communication Survey. It's open to employees, parents, students and community members, so don't be shy... share the link with everyone you know!

Tonight's the night to weigh in on our investment-loaded budget for 2017-18.

All joking aside, this is a budget year unlike any other. Superintendent Hopson is recommending nearly $50 million in new investments for our students and schools. Tonight, employees, parents and community members can give input during a public hearing in the BOE auditorium at 6 p.m. If you can't make it, be sure to tune in live on 88.5FM, C19TV or ICYMI: Check out this story in the SCS Newsroom for more info on the proposed budget investments.

Don't miss ArtsFest this Saturday at Colonial MS!

One of our favorite weekends of the entire school year is finally here. Our eighth annual ArtsFest celebration is Saturday, May 13, at Colonial Middle School from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Our amazing SCS arts students, teachers and programs are recognized nationally every year, and we promise you'll understand why even if you spend only a few minutes at this year's ArtsFest. The event features original works of art, live performances and lots of fun for the whole family, so come celebrate the arts at ArtsFest!

Mark it down... May 16 is a BIG day!

School staffs will be on hand to help 4:30 - 7:30 p.m., so we're encouraging parents to take advantage of this chance to complete Priority Registration for the upcoming school year. Please help spread the word to families in your neighborhood. You can find complete registration details here.

School Board members will also be hosting a public hearing Tuesday in the BOE auditorium to discuss a proposal to renew Superintendent Hopson's contract. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. and also be available live on 88.5FM, C19TV and

Make room on your fridge... new calendars are here!

Earlier this spring, the Board approved next year's instructional calendar. We polished them up a little bit to make it easier for instructional staff and families to keep track of holidays and key dates during the school year. As soon as the work year calendars are ready for everyone else, we'll give them the same treatment... so make room on your office wall!
