BAND CONCERT
TOMORROW !
The Band Concert will feature the Percussion Ensemble's performance of their piece from the State competition in April, Jazz Band 1 which placed 4th at the Reno Jazz Festival and the Wind Ensemble who had an inspiring trip to Vancouver and who has been accepted to perform at Carnegie Hall in 2017!
ORCHESTRA
Thurs, June 2
Chamber Orchestra will feature Emmett Armstrong on the Eccles Sonata for Double Bass, seniors Lorenzo Coughlan, Max Hellen-Cerni and Gates Onstad on Vivaldi's Concerto Grosso in D minor, and Caleb Bantum's original score "Chrysopoeia." The evening will culminate with excerpts from Stravinsky's "Firebird."

ATTENTION BAND & ORCHESTRA PARENTS
Baked goods donations are still needed for both of these concerts. Baked items or donations from your favorite bakery are very much appreciated. Please send with students or drop off at the Concert at 6pm.
UNIFORM turn in after the Concert
All seniors and students not performing at graduation must turn in the concert clothes after the upcoming concerts.
Remember to have your student bring a change of clothes to the concert! Uniform check in is outside the stage door in the gym hallway at the end of the evening. Please be sure to have all pieces of your uniform, including the hanger

Special COFFEE Note! Our wonderful coffee supplier, Caffe Appassionato accidentally duplicated part of our recent order. They donated the 30 bags of ground Tempest coffee to our fundraising program. If you missed out on ordering from a student here's your chance to pick up a bag or two ($12 each). Coffee will be available at both the Band and Orchestra concerts or you can contact Jill Hansen.

Treble Choir
will be traveling around Seattle on Friday, June 3rd for their annual spring tour. We are still looking for a number of parents to chaperone and drive this day. Please let Ms. Rowley know if you are available at

Vocal Jazz Solo Night is on Wednesday, June 8th at 7:00 PM
in the
Black Box Theatre. The evening will feature performances of jazz standards sung by all
Vocal Jazz members, in collaboration with the incomparable Ev Stern Jazz Trio (a professional Seattle-based jazz combo). Please join us for an evening of great music!

Incoming Freshmen Music Meeting
Wednesday, June 15th at 7:00 PM
There will be a brief, informational meeting i
n the Performing Arts Center
for all incoming freshmen that will be involved in the music program. We realize it is a busy time of year, but if you are able to attend, please come! It is a time to meet the teachers, learn a bit about the program, hear from current students, and meet other 8th graders. We will also be talking about next year's calendar of events.
Graduation Performance on Monday, June 20th for the following groups:
Concert Choir, Adv Women's Chorale, Symphonic Band,Wind Ensemble,
and selected Percussionists
Students will need to provide their own transportation to & from
Memorial Stadium
and
should arrive no later than 6:30pm at the Stadium and be in full Concert Attire.
Students can bring a black jacket to wear while they are not performing. The ceremony begins at 8pm and is estimated to be done around 9:30pm.
After graduation, all students will turn in their Concert Attire at the Stadium so they need to bring an extra change of clothes and shoes.

CLEAN UP DAY & PATXI'S PIZZA ON SATURDAY JUNE 11th

Come make
Saturday June 11th a day of supporting Ballard Performing Arts.
It is the annual Clean Up Day and many hands make light work. Parents and Students (Service Hours) come anytime from 9:00 - 1:00 and help the Directors get their programs in place for the summer hiatus. Come for a short time or stay for as long as you can and then head over to Patxi's Pizza to keep the giving happening with the Pizza Fundraiser. Sign up

The award winning
All-City Band
is seeking members for the 2016 summer marching band. As a part of this group students will improve their musicianship, learn new music and make new friends. There is no audition regardless of experience, students will be taught everything they need to know by the instructional staff of college volunteers. Students in the
g
raduating classes of 2016-2020 are eligible to participate. Register at

JAZZED New York City singing sensations Kate Davis and Martina DaDilva are coming to Seattle...Vocal Jazz Intensive with the Ladybugs on August 15 - 19 from 10am - 3pm daily. While it is a camp for singing it would also be a lot of fun and musically instructive for students who are mainly instrumentalists but willing to give vocals a try.
