LEVDo you think you might be called to be a Lay Eucharistic Visitor?

LEV training Nov 9, 6-9 p.m.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors (LEVs) take communion to those who cannot attend worship. If you believe you might be called to this ministry, discuss it with your clergy person.

LEVs are licensed by the bishop. Licensing requires an application signed by your priest and attendance at a diocesan training session. The next training session is on Nov. 9 at St. Martin's in Providence, from 6 to 9 p.m. Learn more about the ministry of a LEV and download the application here, and submit the completed application prior to attending the training.

TENSMake your pledge campaign easier
by using templates from TENS or Project Resource

The diocese has a membership with The Episcopal Network for Stewardship (TENS), which provides many  resources. Each year TENS produces themed stewardship campaign materials, including bulletin inserts, letters in Word that you can edit to fit your situation, pledge cards, and a card giving a chart to help you determine what your percentage of income you are giving. These templates are attractive (including a theme photo) and easy to use.

This year's set of resources can be found hereThe login username for all Rhode Island parishes is "generous", the password is "journey".

We are also a part of Project Resource, a collaboration among the bishops of various dioceses to strengthen the stewardship ministries of the church. Some of their resources are available here, under "Day Two Resources." Bishop Knisely sponsored a team from our diocese to attend a training conference and make themselves available to consult with parishes. They are:
  • The Rev. Sunil Chandy (Westerly)
  • The Rev. Canon Linda Grenz (Providence)
  • Lora McFall (Little Compton)
  • The Rev. Veronica Tierney (Woonsocket)
