- The theme of the training

is "Church Planting Boot Camp." The sessions begin tomorrow (Friday) at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Hear about church-planting experiences, how to develop leaders for church plants, church-planting methods, and more.

Eastgate House of Prayer
- At EHOP this Tuesday at 7 p.m. Ryan Forbes and Officer Wendell Metzler will share Ryan's redemptive story of overcoming addiction and walking in wholeness. These men demonstrate how reconciliation can triumph powerfully over retribution. Jonathan Martin will lead our prayer time as we intercede for broken lives to be made whole. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, incarceration, or hopelessness, come and let us pray and be encouraged together. Childcare is provided through age 7. All are welcome.

Sabbatical
- Pastors Lester and Erma will be taking a three-month sabbatical this summer, from June through August. They plan to invest some time into travel and other forms of refreshment. Petra has opened a Sabbatical Fund for their additional expenses this summer. If you wish to contribute to this fund, please designate your gift to the Zimmerman Sabbatical Fund.
New Elder
- Rob Heagy has been named to the Elder Team at Petra. Rob has served as an Assistant Regional Care Minister, greeter, and volunteer in Student Ministries. He graduated from Myerstown Theological Seminary and recently completed an Elder Internship at Petra. He and his wife, Tara, have two daughters, Kalen and Kendall.
Expanded Role
- Darrel Martin, who currently serves as our Campus Facilities Manager, will be picking up some pastoral care responsibilities. He will be overseeing the Regional Care Ministry Teams and helping with various pastoral responsibilities, such as weddings, funerals, and visitations. Darrel will now carry two titles: Campus Facilities Manager and Care Pastor.
New Ministry Leader
- Scott and Lisa Hurst have stepped down from their leadership of Petra's Prayer Ministry. We thank them wholeheartedly for their three years of dedicated service! Barb Hummel has been serving as Interim Prayer Ministry Leader.

The times are Friday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The objective is to acquire the tools to create a healing ministry for those engaged in - and impacted by - addictive sexual behavior. Understand the role that shame plays in the addiction process;
how childhood trauma and woundedness perpetuate addictive behavior; the neurochemistry of addiction; and specific behavioral triggers that contribute to addiction.
The cost to attend is $129 per person. An optional lunch is available for $10.

Chicken Barbecue Fundraiser Meal

is a Petra missionary serving with ACTS (Antioch Center for Training and Sending) in the Middle East. Pray for God’s anointing of wisdom as she gives oversight to a shorter-term team that is serving in her place of service. Pray also for God’s blessing and leading as she and her fiancé, Trevor, prepare to get married later this year and seek God’s direction regarding their future service together.
Mission Trip, Ukraine
- A short-term mission trip is being planned for August 16-26 to serve and teach at an English camp for kids in Poltava, Ukraine. This will be the third time that a team is going to work with this church. Would you be interested in joining the team? You need to be at least 18 years old, energetic, and ready to teach English to children and young teens (no special training needed). The approximate cost will be $1,600 per person. Death
Our brother Manny Riehl transitioned to Glory yesterday afternoon. Our love and sympathy to his son, Matt, and to the extended family. Visitation will take place at Petra this Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and his Celebration of Life on Monday at 10 a.m.
