Pets of Rowayton

Pets of Rowayton READ Poster Program Begins

Calling ALL PETS!

The Rowayton Library will pay tribute to the "Pets of Rowayton" for the sixth year - this coming March on the library's website.

So, let us honor your Rowayton Pet by making a READ Poster with their picture - to inspire the children of this community to READ! Please visit the Rowayton Library's SPECIAL website http://pets.rowayton.org and fill out the form, attach a JPG format picture of your Pet (no people), and tell us your Pet's name, Breed/species/etc., your Pet's age, and funny anecdotes you want to include - or just tell us how special your pet is to you and your family. Include your name, your address, and your telephone number.

We will be happy to post your pet's picture on the Library's website. The Library staff will create READ posters with these pictures and post them in Rowayton and at Rowayton Elementary School as well as provide the owners with a copy of the poster of their pet. This is a free program and is open to all pets in Rowayton, CT. Deadline February 28, 2013.

StoryTime @ the Rowayton Library - every Wednesday, Friday & Saturday morning @ 10:30am

Did you know that by attending storytime, you're getting much more than just a fun activity? StoryTime is a wonderful way for your child to acquire the six early literacy skills researchers identify as laying important groundwork for learning to read.

The skills are: Print Motivation, Vocabulary, Phonological Awareness, Letter Knowledge, Print Awareness, and Narrative Skills.  Click HERE to read more.

Join us for StoryTime @ the Rowayton Library every Wednesday, and Friday and Saturday morning @ 10:30am.

Knitting for Adults
Thursdays @ 1-3pm

Relax and enjoy knitting in the company of others at the Rowayton Library. These sessions will be an opportunity to share patterns, different techniques and helpful hints from more experienced knitters. Bring your current project or an old unfinished one. If you haven't knit in years, don't rush out and buy new supplies. Just bring your favorite needles-we also have extra needles and yarn. After a quick refresher you will be able to select an appropriate pattern for your skill level and order materials. Refreshments will be served.

Recycling

Please consider donating your used Ink Cartridges to the Rowayton Library.   We recycle them and receive credit for library and office supplies.  Thanks you!
