Pharad's Quarterly Newsletter                         Volume 3, Issue 2, Spring 2013

Since we last met with our customers and colleagues at AFCEA West and OFC/NFOEC earlier this year, Pharad has completed our relocation to a new, larger facility.

We have nearly doubled our size and expanded our office space, engineering laboratories, and production capability in an updated facility adjacent to the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

Pharad's is now located at: 1340 Charwood Rd, Ste L  Hanover, MD

Our new headquarters have been designed to allow us to continue to grow our innovative research, development, and manufacturing of new products and services.

This new facility will support our growing commitment to our customers as we continue to maintain ISO9001:2008 standards, ensuring the delivery of only the highest quality products and services.

SOFIC 2013

We have two upcoming trade shows this quarter and would like to extend an invitation to visit us at these exhibitions where we will be displaying our latest innovations.  Please contact us to set up a meeting or simply stop by our booth.

 ims 2013

We will be returning to exhibit at SOFIC in Tampa, FL in mid-May then in June, we will be in Seattle, WA participating in IMS.

Pharad at IMS2013

Pharad will be exhibiting again at this year's International Microwave Symposium (IMS) which will take place in Seattle, WA the week of June 3rd. Our booth will be showcasing our RF-over-fiber link technology interfacing with several of our unique antenna assemblies.

At IMS Dr. Dalma Novak, Pharad's VP of Engineering, will also be co-chairing a technical session on Photonic Techniques for Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Signal Generation (Session WE2H).

Wildlife Tracking Applications with Wearable Antenna Technology

Since we first developed our wearable antenna line in 2008, we have seen a growing number of new applications for the radiators apart from the more conventional commercial and government customer base. One such interest is the tagging, tracking and monitoring of animals in the wild.

The lightweight, unobtrusive, and waterproof design of our wearable antenna technology provides a more robust solution compared to whip or stub antennas for wildlife tracking applications. For the tracking of animals, interest in our wearable antenna technology for communicating the tag sensor data has ranged from Satellite Communication systems such as Iridium and Inmarsat to cellular frequency bands.
