Phelps Creek Wine Dinner at Cafe Routier October 20

On Tuesday, October 20th, Jonathan Wadman of Phelps Creek Vineyards will be hosting a wine dinner at Cafe Routier in Westbrook. Jonathan will be joining us from Oregon's Columbia River Valley where Phelps Creek creates stunning Pinot Noirs and incredible whites that are so good, they may just change what Northwest wine is famous for.

Cafe Routier has been a major supporter of these wines since we first introduced them to Connecticut. This wine dinner is several years in the making, and we couldn't imagine a more exciting menu. Please join us!
New Wines from the King and Princess of Zinfandel

Rock Wall Wine Company was founded by Kent  Rosenblum and his daughter, Shauna. After Kent Rosenblum sold his famous  Rosenblum brand in 2008, he decided to go back to a family business that focused on limited production  w ines and having fun. With Shauna, who grew up in the cellar, he founded Rock Wall Wine Company on a former naval base in Alameda, California, with a spectacular view of the San Francisco skyline. The Zinfandel, naturally, is superb. You'll find it at these fine establishments:

SeaSide Wine & Spirits  118 Main St. Old Saybrook
Southend Wine & Spirits 910 S Main St Cheshire
Stony Hill Wine & Spirits  83 Stony Hill Rd Bethel

Any package store in Connecticut can special order the Zinfandel as well as the other fantastic wines in the Rock Wall collection, including the popular Rock Hound Red Blend, Palindrome Tannat, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay.
Fall Is in Full Swing...Time for Sapling!

The leaves are changing and it's getting cooler. There's no season in Connecticut that is more of a feast for the senses than fall, and what fall would be complete without a bit of maple?

Saxtons River Distillery's line of Sapling Vermont Maple Liqueurs are great on their own or in a wide variety of cocktails (see founder Christian Stromberg mix one on Better Connecticut).

If you haven't tasted these spirits before (which are widely available and can be ordered by any package store), stop by  Cheshire Wine & Spirits  Friday 4-7pm for a sample!
