Fury Signs Three Junior Lone Star FC Players
The Philadelphia Fury has completed another wave of signings as Amadou Sheriff, Seydou Ba, and Ayouba Fane agreed to terms and will be joining the team this week. All three players already played in Philadelphia with Junior Lone Star FC of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and helped the squad make a late-season surge towards the playoffs, ultimately falling short of the post-season.
The Fury adds attacking prowess in Ba, 25, and stability with holding midfielders Sherrif, 27, and Fane, 26.
"I am very happy that we were able to sign these three players," exclaimed Fury General Manager, Graham Charters. "We believe they are all technically gifted and their raw athleticism is an asset that can't be coached."
Ba previously played at Holy Family University where he scored 13 goals and three assists in 2009. His Holy Family career was cut short due to injury in 2010 but not before being named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division II Men's Soccer All-East Region team.
"I'm very excited to be joining the Fury," said Ba "We are looking to build something special, not only with the team but across the whole league.
Sherrif joined Lone Star in 2014 while Fane joined the squad in 2010. Both players joined the Fury after impressing during the NPSL campaign as well as private workouts.
The Fever will kick off their season this August and will play their home games at Washington Twp High School. For a full schedule and more information, please visit www.FuryASL.com
