Philanthropy in the Arts

Our latest Survey launches tomorrow

This time last year and with input from Arts Council England, we undertook a comprehensive consultation on the DCMS's Philanthropy in the Arts agenda ahead of the launch of Catalyst Arts.  Some 587 arts organisations took part in that consultation process and in light of developments over the last year, we are now looking to return to a range of issues relating to Philanthropy in the Arts and seek the views of the arts sector once more. In addition to looking at gathering data on developments over the past year, we will be inviting you to explore with us developments in individual giving and the issue of ongoing training for fundraising professionals.

If you have received this email, you will be sent an invitation to take part.

The survey will remain live until mid March and findings will be reported free of charge at the end of that same month.

We very much hope that you'll find time once more to share your views.

Energy

Start saving money on your energy bills!

In the current economic climate and at a time when all cultural organisations are seeking meaningful ways to reduce costs without cutting programming, AQ Energy is helping the arts reduce its energy dependency and costs.

AQ Energy is a joint venture between Arts Quarter and Utility Aid.

Utility Aid has been helping many in the wider charitable community to manage their energy usage by:

-   acting on the findings from the free energy audits we conduct on your behalf,

-  installing over 700 smart meters and helping organisations to monitor effectively and manage down their energy costs,

-  wholesale energy purchasing.

Since 2002, Utility Aid has managed to reduce not-for-profit energy bills by over £4million.

Recognising the need for arts organisations to manage their energy usage sensitively yet effectively, this joint venture with AQ aims to bring the opportunity to make considerable savings to the arts at a time when everyone is seeking additional ways to manage down overheads.

You will pay fees to take advantage of these services.

Are you preparing for Catalyst 3?

In recent weeks, we have been supporting organisations preparing their ACE Catalyst Arts applications for combined capacity building and matched funding which were submitted at the end of January.

Are you now looking to apply under the next round of Catalyst for one year of capacity building support only?

There are a number of ways in which we may be able to help:

1. Supporting you to reflect on your bid and guiding you through bid preparation by way of devising your case for support.

2. Undertaking free Wealth Screenings of your audience data so that you can provide evidence in the body of your applications of your potential to engage with High Net Worth Individuals.  As part of the screening process we will help you to interpret your findings and suggest possible ways forward with your results.

To find out more about the screening process click here
