What's pickleball?

Want to learn to play?

Pickleball 101 starts at 6 p.m. Thursday Aug. 24 at Huckleberry Park. Bill Baker will lead the class with the help of other advanced pickleball players. The class is free but reservations are requested by emailing [email protected] or calling 573-221-0154. Additionally, Baker and others play pickleball at Huckleberry Park every Tuesday evening, starting around 6 p.m. Newcomers are welcome.

New pickleball league added!

Fall Pickleball League . Registration due Aug. 29. Competitive league will be Tuesdays Sept. 5 to Oct. 10 with tournament Oct. 17; leisure and intermediate league will be Thursdays Sept. 7 to Oct. 12.

Toys for Tots Rock for Tots Aug. 26: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m outdoor yard sale at Central Park Cruise-in noon to 3 p.m. at Central Park Parade 4 p.m. down Main Street Family fun events at Tanyard Gardens start at 5 p.m. kids under 10 get in free Trixx Band will take the main stage from 6pm- 8pm, Impakt Band will take the main stage from 9pm- 11pm

Fall Festival of Country Music

6-9 p.m. Sept. 9 at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center. Admittance is free but donations will be accepted for the band. Food and drink concession will be available from Greater Days restaurant.

Admiral Coontz Recreation Center Summer hours

7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Friday,
Starting Sept. 5 will be open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday

Play Without Boundaries Sensory Room Games, puzzles and Imagination Playground blocks for all-inclusive indoor play for adults and children at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center

Senior Adult Dances Noon to 3 p.m. Wednesdays at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center. Music provided by Uptown Strings.

Huckleberry Park Born Learning Trail is an interactive series of 10 outdoor games around Huckleberry Park playground. There are several new pieces of all-inclusive playground equipment, including two handicap-accessible swings and musical instruments at Huckleberry Park playground.
