Jean Andrews

Andrews Recognized at President's Club Social

Jean Andrews became Director of Resource Development and Executive Director of the PCC Foundation in 1982 and held those positions for 13 years.  Under her guidance, the Foundation created the Heritage Society and received funding for 10 scholarship endowments within the first five years.

Upon her retirement, a scholarship endowment was created in Jean's honor.  She continued to work with the Foundation as a Board Member and has recently served on the Scholarship and Resource Development committees.

"The existence and growth of the College and Foundation today owe much to Jean and her vision, leadership and commitment", Dr. Bartlett shared with President's Club members.  Jean has recently decided to step down from her Foundation Board position at the College.

72 Scholarships Awarded for
Summer and Fall Semesters

Many deserving students received good news from the PCC Foundation concerning financial assistance for the summer and fall semesters. More than 70 scholarships were awarded ranging in size from $150 to $2,000.

"We received more applications from 2011 high school graduates this year", remarked Jane Long, chair of the PCC Foundation Scholarship Committee. "This was encouraging as we awarded 26 scholarships to these incoming students."

Scholarships are available to new and returning students each year and are awarded in April to assist recipients for the summer and fall semesters and in October to assist with spring semester expenses.

"Create Our Video" Contest Second Place Winner, Violet Jackson and First Place Winner Kristy Wilkins

The President's Club Social, held on Thursday, June 9, was a time of celebration and reflection on the 2010-2011 academic year at PCC.  Guests had the opportunity to meet students who participated in the "Create Our Video Contest" where the top three video creators received scholarship funds through the Foundation's Mini-Grant program.  Taking the top three slots were Kristy Wilkins with her "PCC is Right for You" video coming in first; Violet Jackson's "PCC Film" video taking the second prize and Noah Yudell (not pictured) placing third with his video entitled "April".
