Veterans' Quilt Drawing on November 12
to Benefit PCC Scholarship

The Clement Quilters have been very busy creating a one of a kind quilt with emblems from the five branches of military service: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines and Navy.

A drawing will be held for this 102 x 115 quilt at Clement Baptist Church at 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 12.  Additional quilts will be on display from 1 - 4 p.m. that day.

Tickets are $1 and can be purchased from the PCC Foundation. All donations will benefit the "Forever Remembering PFC Richie Jones Scholarship" endowment at the College.

This scholarship has already assisted two students at PCC and in the future will provide scholarship funds to three students each year as they follow their educational dreams.

This year's recipient,  Robert Thomas, Jr., is a 2011 graduate from Bartlett Yancey High School.  In addition, he was captain of the wrestling squad and a member of the Naval Jr. ROTC where he was also the Chaplain.  In addition, Thomas  received the PCC Trustees Scholarship for being the student with the highest GPA from Bartlett Yancey to attend PCC this academic year.

For quilt ticket information or information on how to support the scholarship program at PCC, contact Beth Townsend at (336) 599-1181, ext. 204 or townsee@piedmontcc.edu
