Exciting News
Dear Pilgrim Pines Family and Conference Churches,

On behalf of the Pilgrim Pines Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the selection of Scott Lee as the next Executive Director of Pilgrim Pines.  Scott came to the committee as a candidate after a 12 month nationwide search.  We are excited to have Scott join the Pilgrim Pines team and to lead the organization in this next chapter of our ministry.

Scott comes from a background in the insurance industry, working for Lexington Insurance Company / AIG as Vice President of Primary Casualty Claims.  Previously a member of the Pilgrim Pines Board of Directors, Scott served 3 years as President.  He is well-acquainted with the ministry of the Pines, understanding its operations, strengths, opportunities and critical needs.  Scott's background in risk management and executive leadership are skills well-suited to meeting the current needs of Pilgrim Pines.  Expressing his enthusiasm to make this significant life change, with his family's support, he shared a desire to be obedient to the Lord's calling on his life.  Scott recognizes the significant role Christian camping plays in spiritual formation at all ages and is eager to work to grow the ministry so more people can experience the Lord's work through camp.  As a life-long member of a Covenant church, Scott is committed to the Covenant Affirmations and familiar with the structure of the East Coast Conference and larger denomination.  Scott and his wife Allyson reside in Millis, MA and have two daughters, Kirstin and Jessica.  They plan to relocate to their home on Swanzey Lake, near the Pines.

Scott's life and work experience, passion for the Pines and Christian camping, call to ministry and desire to serve will collectively assist in moving the ministry of the Pines forward and advancing its mission in service to our Lord.  Scott begins as Executive Director on July 8th.

A special thank you goes to the search committee for their diligent and thoughtful work this past year. The committee was led by Chair Rev. Scott Jones and included Pines Board members Kimberly Mann, David Gibbs, Carol Wild and myself, as well as Conference Board Secretary Greg Johnson.  Thank you to Jim Condap who served as Acting Director and Karen Manlove, Business Manager, as well as the entire staff for their patience, dedication, and faithfulness to the ministry during this time of transition.  Please join us in welcoming our new Executive Director, Scott Lee, to Pilgrim Pines!

In His Service,
Courtney Crowder

  Summer 2016
Camp Squanto 2016
We are so excited for the upcoming summer season at Camp Squanto! Activities include big games, waterfront, climbing tower, arts and crafts, camp store, great meals, crazy skits, but even more importantly, great worship, skill development and great activities with your friends & cabin mates. Each week of camp we invite age-appropriate guest speakers to come and talk to the campers about their faith. Music is led by the summer staff and is always a crazy and moving experience. Camp Squanto campers love to sing! New for 2016 - zip line & a new adventure course and Creative Arts Camp!

Creative Arts Camp!

New at Camp Squanto! Music, Drama, Art, Dance, along with all your Camp Squanto favorites! During this non-competitive one week camp experience campers will work with professionals and Squanto staff as they learn to use their God-given gifts.  Campers will spend time each day learning and developing new skills in their chosen area. This program is  run by professional staff that will foster each camper's interests, talents and aspirations. Campers learn onsite, and offsite as they will  visit local stages and theaters to learn from those who serve in the arts with production, drama, sound and light. The week will finish with a creative arts showcase. Space for this camp is limited so sign up today for this amazing experience!
Many families say that their week at Mayflower Family Camp is a hybrid between a traditional New England summer camp and a fun filled, memory making family vacation. Mayflower Family Camp creates a unique oasis for adults and children alike. Parents can choose to participate in morning Christian education time with outstanding speakers from across the country while their kids learn new skills, discover Biblical lessons and share new experiences with their new friends. Everyone has the chance to develop an appreciation for new friendships and God's creation.

Volunteer Opportunities
Pilgrim Pines welcomes volunteers all year long
Whether you come by yourself, with your family or through a church group. We are blessed by volunteers who help in the kitchen, serve as weekend hosts, assist in the Mayflower office and work on maintenance projects.
We can really use some volunteer help now and into the fall as we are clearing some areas of overgrowth in the camping area.

Your church may even be interested in our " Adopt-a-Cabin" program. When a church adopts a cabin they commit to an annual donation toward its maintenance and often send a volunteer group to specifically tend to their cabin's needs.  Contact  Jim Condap  if your church is interested in volunteering or Adopt-a-Cabin.
