For 17 years,
Children's Week at the Capitol has been the only broad-based promotion of children and family issues in Florida. The goal of this annual event is to help strengthen Florida's families by sharing a commitment to improve our communities through events and outreach efforts aimed at promoting the health, safety and well-being of our children.
As part of Children's Week, tens of thousands of pieces of "hand art"--decorated by children and their teachers--will be hung throughout the Capitol Rotunda Sunday, January 21 - Friday, January 26, 2018. The amazing display of children's art hangs in the Capitol Rotunda as a reminder to legislators and advocates that we must take care of our most precious commodity - our children.
Schools, child care centers and individuals from across the state have been submitting hands to hang at the Capitol for many years, and we would like to collect hands from providers across Pinellas to be represented. If your school, center, or home is interested in participating, please contact Mary Burns at firstname.lastname@example.org, and an ELC representative will come by and collect your artwork no later than Monday, January 11th. If you plan on attending, please let us know, as we would love to highlight your school, center, or home with the Office of Early Learning!
