Rainbow Classic's Giving Spirit Lives On

It's hard to tell how anyone will fare in the face of tragedy. When Brian and Barb Pasley lost their daughter Katelyn in 2000, they gathered the strength to began building a legacy around her memory. The Pasleys started a fundraising event called the Rainbow Classic, a basketball game that brings the two sets of Pittsford high school basketball teams together. In 2002, Steve and Kim McCluski joined the Pasleys in their efforts to remember their son Ryan. Watch a video to commemorate the 10th anniversary of this truly remarkable event. For more information on the event, which begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, click here or call (585) 267-1062. |

Former Patient Turns Olympic Athlete
At age 12, Jonathon Lillis was hospitalized after nearly dying of asphyxiation in a terrible accident. Fortunately, a medical team at Golisano Children's Hospital was able to save Jonathon and today, his dreams of going to the Olympics have come true. Jonathon, now 16, will be the youngest athlete on the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Watch this incredible video created by Jonathon's family to see how far he has come. (Remember, kids, don't try this at home.)
