Recent Crisis Averted, But the Need Continues

As many of you know, RideAble recently experienced a critical lack of funding that nearly produced the devastating result of having to close our doors. Once the news spread however, countless staff, families, and volunteers rallied tirelessly.

Thankfully, through our GoFundMe site, our Network for Good site, and many other individual efforts, RideAble was able to raise nearly $20,000 in 10 days! Thank you to everyone who helped us surpass this immediate goal! This overwhelming effort shows just how much people familiar with RideAble appreciate what we do and want us in the community for another 20 years!

Please view this Thank You video produced by volunteer Lena DiMatteo.

This emergency fundraising effort has us 'out of the woods' for the short term, but increasing program expenses and the need to hire an executive director (see volunteer section) translate to the need for increased support from new and recurring donations, fundraisers, grants, sponsorships, etc.

We will only succeed through this year and another 20 years if we can get SUSTAINABLE, long-term support to continue our important mission.

What People are Saying About RideAble...

"This is a special program that touches not only the students but the volunteers, staff and families. Every little bit helps!"

"Incredible program that fills a very important need with exceptionally dedicated leadership, staff (horses and people), and volunteers. It is a winning program in all regards!"

"My daughter had the honor of working here this past summer and it changed her life! We need to keep it up and running! They help so many with special needs! To see their smiles is life changing!"

What Can You Do to Help?
Donate or Sponsor

Network for Good: RideAble is in dire need of ongoing, sustainable donations. Whether a few dollars or a little more, having recurring donations that we can count on throughout the year helps regulate our cash flow and keep our program functioning at the high level we are known for. Through our Network for Good site (here, or the Donate Now button on our website) you can choose the quantity, the timeframe (monthly or quarterly) and where you'd like your funding to go, choosing to sponsor a student, a horse, or the entire herd for a period of time.

GoFundMe: Because RideAble's expenses will always exceed the income received from students' riding fees, the GoFundMe site will remain open for additional donations. Even while we continue to keep our student fees low, at least one-third of our riders require financial assistance to take part in the program. Please consider donating to our Tuition Assistance Fund (see RideAble site).

Corporate Sponsorships

Do you or someone you know have a business that might enjoy being a RideAble sponsor? They can sponsor a student, a horse, or events. Please contact the RideAble office at 541-684-4623 if you have any leads or ideas for additional sponsorships or corporate donors.

Volunteer

RideAble has many different volunteer positions to choose from, and whatever time you can contribute is appreciated. Having volunteers help us keep costs down. Here are just a few positions where we currently need help:
  • Barn and Property Help: Cleaning stalls, keeping the grounds maintained, helping put up hay in the summer, etc.
  • Aiding students: Assisting students tack the horses, leading or supporting students on their horses.
  • Event Support: Helping plan and/or execute our fundraising events. We are now planning our Spring Fundraising Event and can use you help. Give us a call. (It's a lot of fun!)
  • Being a RideAble Board Member: We need your expertise and we meet just once per month for two hours.
  • Projects and Committees: We currently have space on our Recruitment Committee to help us select the critical position of our next Executive Director. Do you have Human Resources or talent acquisition background? We'd love your contribution.
