The annual Norman Mardi Gras Parade takes place starting at 7 p.m. Feb. 10, regardless of weather conditions. The parade route circles Downtown Norman (at least twice).
Main Street closes from 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m. The high school band performance and food trucks, including Classic Cajun Cuisine, Midway Deli and La Gumbo Ya Ya set up before the 7 p.m. start.
The Norman Chocolate Festival will be presented by Norman PTA Council. During the festival, partnering restaurants and businesses will offer thousands of samples of delectable treats for those who wish to purchase tickets. Tickets can be purchased for four one-hour-long sessions. During each session, ticket holders will receive 10 tastes. Premium admission ticket holders will receive five additional tastes. Step back in time for a day of revels April 6-8 at the Medieval Fair. Enjoy mirth and merriment with kings, queens, knights and fools as the kingdom comes alive. Held annually since 1977, this living history fair features educational exhibits, arts, crafts, food, games, demonstrations and ongoing entertainment at seven stages.
The
Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art will be exhibiting a large-scale, high-quality, scholarly display of three generations of modern Pueblo painting from Jan. 26 through April 8.
The museum offers complimentary admission, thanks to a donation by the University of Oklahoma Athletic Department.
