MTW ON WGBH's GREATER BOSTON
By Nicole, MTW Graduate
My name is Nicole and I'm a graduate and the Intake Specialist Intern at More Than Words. Recently More Than Words had the opportunity to be on the show Greater Boston on WGBH!  I talked with reporter Stephanie Leydon about the skills I gained from MTW's job training program. I was interviewed at Whole Foods Market where I currently work as a cashier. Even though I was nervous, I'm glad that I was able to let the world know about MTW . They also filmed Jodi, MTW's CEO, and RJ, a youth Partner.  Thank you to WGBH and my current job Whole Foods Market for this great experience and spreading the word about our program!

GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT
By Gwen, MTW Graduate

My name is Gwen and I am a MTW Graduate. Before MTW, I never had a job and I didn’t want one because I was nervous. I was always getting kicked out of school.  Eventually my social worker convinced me to try it.  When I first started work was hard, but over time I became more mature and my attitude changed.

Since leaving More Than Words, I have also aged out of DCF. I am working full time at House of Blues and still pushing forward in life. The graduate program at MTW has been really supportive through helping me look for jobs and supporting my earning a certificate of completion from high school. MTW has continued to be a real motivator for me and I am grateful that they are there for me.

MORE THAN WORDS HOSTS DCF
by Chris, MTW Senior Partner

My name is Chris and I'm a Senior Partner. Last month we were honored to host the Department of Children and Families (DCF) for a visit at MTW in Boston, including Chief of Staff Paola Ferrer. They came to get insight about our program and to meet some of the DCF-involved youth and MTW alumni. When they got here they went on a tour, got to ask questions about our program, and hear some of our stories. After the tour, we had a community meeting where they introduced themselves and the MTW youth asked them some questions about the system. Thank you to Paola and DCF for visiting MTW!

MORE THAN WORDS TAKES ON THE BOSTON MARATHON
by Gigi, MTW Senior Partner
More Than Words is excited to cheer for our two runners in this year's Boston Marathon!  We are grateful to John Hancock for supporting MTW to be part of this!  One of our runners, Hannah, is part of the MTW’s community and volunteers with us on our business shifts.  Our other runner, Leanne, is the Director of Youth Development at MTW and works very hard to support me and rest of the youth team.  We're so proud of both of them for training and supporting us.  On behalf of the entire youth team at MTW, we want to thank them and wish them both the best of luck this April.
