Wow, the last full month of summer. Where did the year go? Play-Place has had an event-filled 7 months and the momentum is bursting. With all of the progress, donation contributions, and countless calls from anxiously awaiting families, I've decided to reinstate the newsletter - newly tagged the "Play-Place Insider." We're nearing the finish line and preparing for tours, early membership reservations and our "PREVIEW" Construction party, where we'll ceremoniously knock in the last nail and lift the last paint brush as a kick-off celebration to the grand opening (stay tuned for dates and details). And, as I dust off the fear and uncertainty, and wipe away surrender from my brow, I can't help but think of all the beautiful angels that walked this journey with me - with a donation of crayons or easels for our art room, purchased a raffle ticket, shared some encouraging words, exchanged stories of "living with autism" or simply put in a prayer for Play-Place. My heart swells with sheer gratitude...and THANKS!

Boy has this been a journey! Schematics, mechanical, ductwork, studs, permits ...me and my bright ideas. And as the old addage goes, "I'm allowed to scream and I'm allowed to cry, but I'm NOT allowed to give up!" We have come a long way, my friends and the vision is becoming clear and REAL, with kudos to so many wonderful heroes. September is slated for a contractor drywall party, paint party and final millwork installment. While, if I had my druthers, we'd be open by now, I have to truly appreciate the lessons of patience, business & GOD!

Play-Place had the honor of a recent FOX 2 News feature highlighting our niche mission of "purpose-driven play." It delivered a heartfelt account of "living with autism" and Play-Place's fun-filled no-judgment zone solution. We are very proud of this powerful journalistic piece and
hopeful that it will elevate interest and awareness in the
donor
and family
communities.
