Join us on August 19 at Newman Tennis Center for CSRATA's Player Appreciation Day.
You're invited to the CSRATA
Player Appreciation Day
August 19, 2017, at Newman Tennis Center

Please come out to Newman Tennis Center, from 8:30 am until 2:00 pm, to take part in the CSRATA's Player Appreciation Day. This event is completely free for any adults who are USTA members!

The day will consist of various clinics given by local area pros, followed by a mini tournament using the Fast Four format.

  • 8:30am - 9:00am: Registration
  • 9:00am - 10:00am: Clinics from area pros
  • 10:15 - 1:00pm: Fast Four Combo Tournament
  • Lunch will be provided during the tournament.

The shortened format offers a "fast" and fun alternative to tennis, with four points, four games, and four rules:

  1. No-ad scoring is used. If the score reaches deuce, it's a sudden death point. The receiver choses which side to take the serve on.
  2. Service lets are played. If the serve clips the net and lands in the service box, there's no let and the ball is in play. If you are playing doubles, either the receiver or the receiver's partner can play the return.
  3. Tie-breaks are played at three games all. At 3 games all, a tiebreak is played to 5 points. Each person alternates serving 2 points each, with an end change at 4 points. A deciding point will be played at 4 points all; players spin racket to decide who serves/receives deciding point.
  4. The first to four games wins the set.

Please register in advance to take advantage of this show of appreciation for our local players. The tournament will be a combo style format (5.5, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5) and it will be men's and women's. If you don't have a partner, we can do our best to pair you with someone on the day of the tournament.

Big thanks to Rob Strickland for planning and organizing this event! Look forward to seeing everyone!!
