THE AFRICAN PEOPLE & WILDLIFE FUND

Dear Friend of the African People & Wildlife Fund,

Once a year, I write asking for your support of APW's Annual Fund Campaign. With your help last year, our work has reached new heights. Please consider making a gift to this important campaign. We are very grateful to those who have already given. Thank you.

Please click here to donate online. Checks payable to APW may be sent to our New Jersey office at Box 624, Bernardsville, NJ 07924.

THIS YEAR, TURNING YOUR CONSERVATION DOLLARS INTO CONCRETE ACTIONS...

  • APW enabled rural villagers to develop their own Natural Resource Management Action Plan, charting the way for a healthier future for people and wildlife in the magnificent Maasai Steppe.
  • We installed even more Living Walls, expecting to crest 100 predator-resistant enclosures by the end of 2011. These installations protect tens of thousands of Maasai cattle and our magnificent big cats - the highly threatened African Lion and Cheetah.
  • The Noloholo Environmental Center came to life hosting our popular environmental summer camps, village game scout training courses and a new "Strengthening Voices" workshop for community empowerment. Meanwhile, we acted as a home away from home for student interns, volunteers, visitors and our eight Noloholo Environmental Scholars.

In the coming year, some major organizational goals are the installation of another 100 Living Walls, the facilitation of community-based wildlife tourism enterprises, the delivery of new courses at Noloholo for natural resource management and the expansion of our Noloholo Environmental Scholarship Fund.

Here are a few examples of how your donation could help:

$75        Sends a Maasai child to APW's unique environmental summer camp

$100      Sends 5 children to Tarangire National Park for a day of hands-on

conservation learning

$250      Supports coursework and workshops for rural villagers at the Noloholo

Environmental Center

$500      Builds a Living Wall, APW's predator-resistant fence - a win-win for

people and lions alike

$1000    Provides a one year scholarship to secondary school for a Noloholo

Environmental Scholar

I sincerely hope you will consider a gift to APW. We are making a real difference in the Maasai Steppe!

With many thanks on behalf of Africa's people and wildlife,

Laly
