These stickers will be on sale at the apres-ride party - $2.00 each or 2 for $5. Stop by the Vermont Adaptive retail table and get yours!
THE TIME IS NOW.

It's here - the 2014 Long Trail Century Ride to benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports.

Thank you for riding, fundraising and supporting adaptive sports. We are nearly sold out, and the weather looks fantastic. We can't wait to celebrate with you this weekend. Please read on...

Lots of notes and logistics. Please be aware of the check-in process, start times, etc. And most of all have fun!

If you have a specific question not answered in this email, make sure you read the FAQs on the website, they may help as well.

Thanks again - see you this weekend!
ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES AT 6 P.M. TONIGHT.
If you have friends, co-workers, family members, etc., who are planning on riding, light a fire under them. We'll close online registration tonight at 6 p.m. We do have about 10 spots left. Folks are welcome to try and "walk-in" to registration Friday night or Saturday morning, but there is absolutely NO GUARANTEE that they'll be able to ride - or they may be able to ride, but won't receive a welcome packet with all the goodies.

CHECK-IN FRIDAY NIGHT.
We'll kick off the weekend Friday night from 4-8 p.m. at Killington's Roaring Brook Umbrella Bars (see details below). Here's the scoop - we'd really appreciate it if you can check-in Friday night. We have 500 riders who need to pick up packets, and by checking in Friday, you help to make Saturday morning run much more smoothly.

You'll need to pick up your own rider packet - friends, etc. can't pick up for someone else.

We'll have a waiver for you to sign. If you'd like to speed up your check-in process, you can download and print the waiver and bring it with you.

Lastly, please bring an ID. We'll be checking IDs and cross-referencing riders with registrations.
SATURDAY MORNING RIDER DETAILS.
If you are traveling and can't make check-in Friday night, we will have late check-in Saturday morning at Long Trail Brewery beginning at 7 a.m. There will be a rider's meeting 1/2 hour prior to the start of each ride - so we ask that you be completely checked-in BEFORE the start of your rider's meeting. Same thing applies as above - waiver and ID required.
FUNDRAISING NOTES.
You guys are nuts. As I write this, you've raised almost $63,000 on First Giving alone! We're sitting here in the office, making 700 sandwiches for aid stations, saying, "Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh, this is crazy!" So thank you!

If you have raised $300 or more by now (collective of prepaid fundraising and/or First Giving), you will find a special cycling jersey in your welcome packet. If you're bringing fundraising to check-in, we'll tally things up and if you've raised at least $300, we'll award you your jersey at check-in as well. So many folks are fundraising, so please bare with us as we tally the numbers over the course of Friday night and Saturday. We may owe you a bike jersey and will order more if we need to. We want you to know that everyone who raises more than $300 will get their special jersey.
HASHTAG #LTCR2014.
While we won't make you speak in hashtags all weekend like Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake (YouTube it if you don't know what I'm taking about), we would like you to use #LTCR2014 and tweet and post your favorite photos from the ride to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. We'll hand out some fun social media prizes during the awards on Saturday.
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES.
Here are some random notes to keep in mind.

-  Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, etc., as the weather is going to be beautiful, and it will be a great day for food, music and fun.
-  While we love dogs and animals just as much as you do, please keep your pets at home. It is going to be sunny and warm, so leaving them in your car won't work. Only service dogs will be allowed on the brewery grounds.
-  All rides start AND end at Long Trail Brewery.
-  KEEP YOUR BIB #! On the bottom are two tear-offs - one for your BBQ and one for a beverage.
-  No glass in the venue, please, including your Long Trail pint glass in your welcome packet.
-  If you plan on enjoying a Long Trail, an ID will be needed at the gate to the party at the brewery. No exceptions.
-  Drop Bags - you are welcome to have a drop bag go out with the support vehicles on the course. However, keep in mind that accessing this bag could be random, based on the pace of the support vehicle. So it might not be as convenient as you want. If you are riding the 100-mile, even though it may be cool to start, you'll will warm up quick. From the start at the brewery, it's about 1,200 feet of vertical climbing into Killington.
-  All riders are required to wear a helmet.
-  If you ordered extra party tickets, they will be in your welcome packet. Additional party tickets will be available at the gate at the brewery; $15/adults and $10/kids 12 and under.
-  If you ordered party tickets but are not riding, those party tickets will be at Will Call at the gate.
-  Looks like we won't have to worry about it, but the event is held rain or shine. Looks like you'll need sunblock for this year.
-  If you see someone in a red event staff shirt, an employee of Long Trail or Killington, thank them. Everyone is volunteering their time this weekend to put on a great event. Long Trail and Killington are so critical to the success of this event, and we are so thankful for their partnerships with Vermont Adaptive.

DETOUR - 100 MILE ROUTE.
We recently learned that a temporary bridge on Route 12 in Barnard installed from Tropical Storm Irene a few years ago is finally be fixed - but unfortunately they are pulling the temporary bridge tomorrow and the road will be closed for the next month.

Instead of turning right off of Route 107 onto Route 12 you will continue straight on Route 107 to North Road and take a right onto North Road. You'll follow North Road into Barnard by the general store and re-connect with Route 12 in Barnard. The detour will be marked, and the road is closed (Route 12) but the detour route still keeps the course at 100.7 miles. There is a a quick, but very steep climb when you first turn on to North Road. Phil Black will be supporting the 100-milers in his Lookout Tavern vehicle. If the climb is a bit much for you, he'll be doing "laps" at the hill to shuttle folks up if they want. Phil will talk about the plan a bit more at the 100-mile rider's meeting at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.
