About Child Abuse Council
The Child Abuse Council builds stronger families in the Tampa Bay region through its prevention and family education programs. The Council believes that a strong family unit is vital to the community and is committed to providing services that help strengthen families and stop the cycle of abuse. Thus by providing intervention, prevention and educational services to every family, any family, we can help our community build a network of strong families and healthy, happy children.
The Child Abuse Council, Inc. (CAC) was established in 1977 and it is guided by a voluntary Board with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds. Over the years, thousands of families throughout Hillsborough County have received the help they needed through our education, prevention and treatment programs. In 2010, CAC programs served 40,669 children and families. The CAC is accredited through the Council on Accreditation.
