Come with me on this safari
October 2010
Greetings!

Safari? Well, my primary purpose is not to be hunting wild beasts and taking pictures of breath-taking scenery, but I will be going on a safari to Nairobi. In Swahili, the language spoken in Kenya, "safari" literally means journey or trip. You didn't realize you knew some Swahili did you?

I have been given the opportunity to be in Nairobi, Kenya (4 days) and Malawi (4 days) with Summit Church (October 13th-24th). I will be traveling with three other men, John, John and Sid. The timing of this trip is fantastic and an answer to prayer for our family.
Purpose
To listen to God...

There is divine appointment for me in this trip. I have been praying for a 2010 Kenya trip all year. God provided the way. He has the purpose.
What I hope to hear is a clearer plan for our first two years; the watch and learn phase. There is a vast social, economic and cultural dichotomy for us to understand and bridge together. This process takes a lot patience and listening. We are available, He will do it!
I am inviting you to "go" with me.

Without knowing what type of daily web access I will have, I am planning on posting pictures and updates on fb and our blog.
Please take the time to friend us and sign up for our blog if you have not done so yet.
Pray for...

  • travel
  • ministry contacts and direction
  • widows and orphans that we meet
  • wisdom and depth of mind
  • ears to listen
  • Camie and kids while Brad is away
Look for daily prayer updates.
Updates
Taking steps towards going...

We have renters for our house! Bonus! They happen to be good friends of ours. Please pray for us this month as we move out of our Lake Mary home and into our parents home in Sanford. We'll be there until we leave in May. Lots of details, paperwork, packing and sweat. We are blessed.
Some of you have begun to give financially. Thank you for you donations to MVI for the ministry in Kenya.
Please consider giving a monthly gift to support the ministry. (Download a donation form)
Thank your for partnering with us on this journey, I mean "safari".

And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them. Isaiah 42:16
