Playwrights in Process: New Play Festival
A Collaboration with Cygnet Theatre

Cygnet LogoPlaywrights Project, in collaboration with Cygnet Theatre, is requesting original, un-produced plays for Cygnet's 3rd annual Playwrights in Process: New Play Festival. The festival is three days of readings, post-show discussions, and audience-focused workshops.

Rehearsal of Pleasure and Pain,
PiP 2013
As part of Playwrights in Process, playwrights will be afforded an exciting opportunity to have their plays developed in a multi-stage process. Writers will work with a director/dramaturg from selection confirmation through the festival. Cygnet Theatre will provide professional actors for two, private table readings. After each, the playwright will work with her/his mentor to further develop the play.

The final revision will be rehearsed and presented before a discerning, theatre audience. Through a facilitated discussion, the writers will receive audience feedback on the play to help them further develop their plays, and to better prepare the works for future productions.

The festival takes places November 7-9, 2013 at Cygnet Theatre.

The deadline for submissions is May 16, 2014.
