Kootenays Speed Ahead with Plans for 13 DC Fast Chargers

Accelerate Kootenays
, an initiative of regional districts in the Kootenays, announced a $1.5 million initiative to expand EV charging in Southeastern BC. The initiative will result in the launch of 40 L2 stations and 13 DC fast chargers throughout the region.

The work is expected to be complete by the end of 2018.

MURB Charging Program Still Accepting Applications!

The MURB Charging Pr ogram has some space available for those interested in receiving a rebate of up to $4,500 on the purchase and installation of an EV charging station in their strata or apartment.

Translink Piloting Full Battery Electric Buses

On Monday - May 15 - Translink begins a 3 month pilot of a 40ft E-bus. The E-bus is provided at no cost to Translink and has a range of 250km. The bus charges in 3 hours using two charging ports. The bus will be tested along several transit corridors with a 2nd pilot project scheduled for next year.

Site Assessments and EV Chargers for Fleets

The BC Fleet Champions Program is still accepting applications for FREE site assessments, and rebates on the purchase and installation of EV charging stations. Additionally, fleets may qualify for free EV monitoring devices for their electric cars.

This program is open to public or private BC-based fleets. Make sure to apply soon as funding is limited.
