June 2015

PODER Fellowship

NAVIGATE Poder Fellowships elevate the leadership development of young adults who have interests in organizing immigrant youth, and promote systemic change around access to higher education, jobs and legal status.

Fellowships will be awarded to 5 young adults who have demonstrated leadership and are committed to build collective power. Priority will be given to young adults who have financial, social and legal barriers to higher education and to students who are ineligible for federal financial aid (FAFSA) because of their immigration status. Students with DACA, U Visa, Witholding of Removal or no status are strongly encouraged to apply.

Recipients will be given the opportunity to build their leadership skills, contribute to support NAVIGATE's mission and will receive awards of $1,000 each.

MCTC and Augsburg College launch
Auggie Plan

MCTC President Avelino Mills-Novoa

What does the Auggie Plan do?
  • Maps out all the coursework you need at both institutions to make sure all your courses transfer
  • Guarantees that your 60 credits from MCTC will satisfy all first- and second-year general education requirements at Augsburg College
  • Grants you access to both MCTC and Augsburg advisors during all four years for extra support and guidance
  • Gives you time to explore majors and career interests and offers the resources to secure work after graduation
Is this affordable?
  • Because students on the Auggie Plan enter Augsburg at the junior level, many will qualify for scholarships-making it possible to earn a four-year private college degree with needs-based grants, manageable student loans, and no out of pocket costs for tuition
Attend an orientation session at  MCTC:
Thursday, June 11, 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Thursday, July 9, 5-7 p.m.
