Katonah Museum's Writer-in-Residence Mentors Young Poets
Katonah-Lewisboro's elementary schools have rich collaborative relationships with many local cultural institutions.

Fourth graders at Katonah and Increase Miller recently worked with Pam Hart, writer-in-residence at the Katonah Museum of Art, while fifth graders at Meadow Pond will soon visit The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art for a one-day workshop.

Nine Compete in Middle School National Geographic Bee
To travel the shortest route from Santiago, Chile, to Perth, Australia, you would fly over which continent?

Which state has the most land owned by the federal government?

Nine students answered questions like these in front of the entire student body this week. The winner, Kye Viall, answered all of them correctly. Congratulations!
Supporting Life Skills of Inclusiveness and Respect
John Jay High School's commitment to respect is evident in personal promises to be inclusive--written on sticky-notes tacked to classroom doors--as well as a community commitment to speak out against acts of discrimination.

These projects are part of a new school initiative called No Place for Hate.
