WHY I GIVE
Cleaveland Miller, Class of 1956
Deciding what good cause to support is a difficult decision. There are so many worthy causes that seek to capture our attention and to obtain our dollars - religious groups, cultural organizations, health and medical folks and, of course, educational institutions. So, we have to admit, there is a lot of competition for the Poly Foundation when it goes out to raise funds.
I give to the Poly Foundation for a number of reasons, all of which blend together and to me create something I very much want to support. First, I received an outstanding education at Poly, one that really helped me as I progressed through college and law school. It was at Poly that I was first exposed to dedicated teachers who cared about me as a person and as a student. It was at Poly that I developed good study habits. By giving to the Poly Foundation, I feel as if I am repaying some part of the debt I owe to Poly.
Second, the Poly Foundation is a very efficient organization. Its fixed overhead costs are small, compared with the money it raises and the benefits it provides to the current Poly students. I feel that I am getting a terrific return on my investment.
Third, the Poly Foundation is providing very meaningful support to Poly students, providing them with assets not available from traditional sources, but assets that are so very necessary in today's highly technical and quickly evolving world. I feel that I am providing a meaningful benefit to Poly students that will help them in their future careers.
Put them all together - it's a winning combination! Please join me in making a gift to the BPI Foundation! Your consideration is greatly appreciated!
