River Center Summer Art Exhibit
Mother and Daughter, The Creative Lives of Audrey Foster and Linda Foster
Linda Foster is a Fresno artist who has studied and worked in many mediums over the years, including weaving, silkscreen, oils, drawing, and acrylics. After college, she finally tried watercolors and found her passion. Living in Yosemite National Park for three years in the late 1970s heightened her sense of color, drawing skills, and love of nature. Surrounded by beautiful scenery every day, Linda spent many hours painting and photographing iconic vistas and intimate details of Yosemite.
Linda and her mother, Audrey Foster, enjoyed afternoons painting at Audrey's kitchen table. They took painting workshops together in Yosemite and at Bass Lake. In addition, they had fun participating in art shows in Mariposa, where Audrey had lived for twenty-eight years, before her death in 2007.
Audrey loved the mountains, the birds, and the deer that came up to her back door. And she loved Yosemite almost as much as Linda does.
Audrey created some of the pieces in this show seventy-five years ago. You will enjoy experiencing work that covers many years in the creative lives of two women who loved to paint together, sing together, and enjoy the beauty and wonder of Yosemite.
Come enjoy this art exhibit during regular Ranch House operating hours, Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
