Member of the Week
The Member of the Week for November 27-December 1, 2017 is Kona Ice of the Dunes. Kona Ice of the Dunes is all about being a positive influence in the community by Giving Back to area non-profits. Dawn and Roger Cole have given back over $35,000 since they rolled up to serve at their first Portage school event in the May of 2014. They offer premium, soft as snow, Hawaiian shaved iced ice from a one of a kind "Kona Entertainment Vehicle". Their shaved ice is amazing, but everyone loves the Kona Experience even more. Customers apply their own flavors from the Flavorwave while dancing to the tropical drum music that whisks them away to a tropical paradise.
Kona Ice is sweetened with Vita-Blend which consists of Natural Stevia, fortified with Vitamins C & D with a bit of pure cane sugar. Grants are available to for-profit, nonprofit, and government entities.
A total of $50,000 is available to be awarded in 2018.
