Great Plains Food Bank helps family survive
John's workday starts at 3:30 a.m. while his wife works evenings. The two do all they can to make time for one another, for their family and to put food on the table for their three children. The family of five gets assistance through the  Great Plains Food Bank BackPack Program and trips to visit a local partner food pantry whenever they run short on food, which happens often. The family appreciates the support they receive and can stretch the resources far.

"If we never came here, I don't know what we would do for the food," John said with a shake of his head while sitting inside a Great Plains Food Bank partner food pantry. "It is a life saver. Some people when we talk to them and tell them we go to the food pantry. They will ask, 'why do you go there?' They probably think it's just a free handout. It's not. It helps us survive."

Each day orders are being filled at the Great Plains Food Bank's 36,000 square-foot warehouse from 213 partner agencies across North Dakota and western Minnesota. See what happens from the inside each time a partner agency order needs to be filled. CLICK IMAGE TO WATCH.
